A smiling carrot, with a smile formed by probably mould

There is more to it than just the carrot. In fact the carrot is the beginning of a dastardly plan I have been hatching for days, and is most cunningly designed.

The blog is currently our best chance at becoming more widely known. The Jabberwocky relies on its web presence to generate a following of people who are familiar with what we do, and who might potentially recommend us to friends, engage with content and so on.

It follows then, that the more people read the blog, the better that is for the business. However most strategies to generate traffic seem to involve cramming your link into every blank space, every comment box and every forum or discussion board you can find, regardless of relevance or significance. I know it works, but it just doesn’t seem terribly … honourable?

So here’s the dastardly plan: I find an original picture that is funny enough to elicit a smirk and post it on the blog. People will flock from miles around to see my picture and partake in mutual smirking. Some will smirk sufficiently that they share it with a friend, who very briefly raises an appreciative eyebrow. Having raised said brow the friend reads a little more, discovers some slight nodding with a half-smile hidden within the winding tale of the Jabberwocky and BAM! Another follower.

I got a little carried away with captions, and may have even gone so far as to carry them around on my phone and show them to people, but that’s not the point. I have tried quality content, and I think people have enjoyed it, so this is my attempt at funny, and may the carrot have mercy on me.

And then I made some more captions.

A carrot, mutilated for food but still smiling.
The carrot of peace loves you, and thinks you smell nice.
The smiling foolish carrot smilesIn case you were wondering, it was a mould that had grown inside the carrot. My mum found it while preparing Christmas dinner. The carrot smiles because it knows it will never be eaten, and is destined for compost.
